Emine Taha
Emine Taha is a junior at Columbia College studying Sustainable Development and Economics.
Observing the limitations of governments in solving complex global issues like the climate crisis has led her to focus on the climate impact of the financial sector. Emine is passionate about improving our built environment which causes 40% of global emissions.
Emine is the President of the Columbia University Impact Investing Network, an undergraduate club focused on sustainable finance. In June 2023, she interned at an international bank with the head of sustainability, closely observing and developing sustainable solutions in investments and operations.
Previously, Emine founded and managed 9 Around the World, a platform with local student correspondents sharing news stories from 55 countries. Being Iraqi-Turkish, she noticed the differing perspectives around important events and aimed to bridge that gap.
