Avery Leal Burke-Doyle
Avery Leal Burke-Doyle is a rising senior at Columbia College studying Sustainable Development and Political Science. His social impact areas of interest include the development of sustainable and climate-proof food systems, especially in Latin America. He is passionate about using the intersection between science and social reforms to alleviate hunger and ensure access to healthy food in the U.S. and globally. Avery applied to the Social Impact Fellowship to continue deepening his understanding of social issues of immigration, climate, public health, and economic development through mentorship and collaboration. By participating in the fellowship, he hopes to gain new leadership skills and learn how to translate his academic studies into a socially impactful career. Avery is excited for the opportunity to form lasting connections with both peers and mentors through Columbia World Projects.
