Olivia Harmon
Olivia Harmon is an Environmental Sciences and Engineering PhD student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, researching wastewater infrastructure in rural Alabama. She received a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) where she assisted in the development of a low-cost fluorescence sensor for the detection of E. Coli in water distribution systems in low- and middle-income communities. While attending CU Boulder, she worked as a research associate at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, researching and developing low- and mid-tech water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure for unserved rural communities in Alaska. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Chemical and Biological Engineering.
