Sofia Ongele is a rising senior at Columbia University where she is studying Information Science in hopes of leveraging computing and technology as mediums to propel social change. Concurrently, she serves as Gen-Z for Change’s Digital Strategist where she creates tools to streamline digital civic engagement, tackling issues from the climate crisis to inclusive education; thus far, these tools have been used over 1 million times. Through the Social Impact Fellowship, she hopes to learn from and collaborate with experts and peers; in turn, she aims to sharpen her skills to create a more tangible impact in all future social impact initiatives and endeavors.
