Julianna Desjardins is a rising junior at Columbia College where she is majoring in Sustainable Development. Her passion for social impact work is rooted in her experience living at the Mexico-US border where she witnessed countless instances of injustices against her community. From this experience, she realized the importance of addressing systemic inequality. She is interested in the issues of inclusive urbanism and energy access to nurture and sustain community-wide growth. Through the Social Impact Fellowship, she wants to better understand her role in the social impact field and develop the tangible skills needed to further the goals she shares with Columbia World Projects.
