Jesus D’Alessandro
Dr. Jesus D’Alessandro is a project lead, representing the Ayuntamiento del Distrito Nacional. He is currently the technical secretary of the Ayuntamiento del Distrito Nacional (ADN) and also the director of the UNIBE’s School of Architecture, through which he will also contribute. Previously, D’Alessandro was Director of Urban Mobility for the city of Santo Domingo. In 2019 he received a recognition from the Mexican National Academy of Architecture for his work in the professional and academic fields. Between 2017 and 2020, he coordinated the development of the 2030 National District Strategic Plan, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development goals, the New Urban Agenda for UN-Habitat and the National Development Strategy of the Dominican Republic for 2030. Currently, he coordinates public policy design projects and new urban interventions aimed to strengthen the resilience and quality of urban spaces in Santo Domingo. D’Alessandro was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 1978. In 2000 he graduated from architect, Summa Cum Laude at UNIBE. The following year, he won the MEXT scholarship from the Japanese Government. From 2001 to 2005 he lived in Japan doing his postgraduate studies with a mixed curriculum master's degree in architecture and urban planning at Mie University. In 2020 he completed his doctoral studies in Western Michigan University, his doctoral thesis analyzes the incidence of collective memory in the social behavior. Has scientific publications on logic and architecture in Architectural journals Institute of Japan. His work on sustainable architecture has been featured in the English magazine World Architecture News and in the publication of the Czech Technical University in Prague, called 150,000 PET Bottles, A Book on PET Bottles in Architecture.
