Catherine Vaughan

Cathy joined Columbia World Projects in February 2021 after 12 years at Columbia’s International Research Institute for Climate and Society, where her work focused on the application and evaluation of scientific information for societal decision making. As a climate change professional, Cathy supported the development of the Global Roundtable on Climate Change; helped to build the Climate Services Partnership; and teaches in Columbia’s Climate & Society master’s program. From 2003-2005, Cathy served with the US Peace Corps in rural Zambia. Cathy’s PhD was awarded in earth and environment from Leeds University. She holds masters’ degrees from Yale and Columbia, and an undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College.
