
Rumbidzai Chisenga
Building the capacity of African youth to lead the continent’s social and economic progress.
Rumbidzai Chisenga was a Program Manager at the Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS), a pan-African think tank that seeks to address socio-economic development challenges through Afrocentric approaches. Rumbi oversaw the implementation of MINDS programs including the management of the Youth Program on Elections and Governance, an initiative that equips African youth with the knowledge and skills to meaningfully participate in the electoral process. Under Rumbi’s leadership, the program’s alumni network spread to 53 African countries. Prior to joining MINDS, Rumbi founded and ran a social enterprise that simplified governance concepts to encourage youth participation in civic life. She also has more than seven years of experience working as a management consultant in South Africa. Rumbi received her bachelor’s degree of commerce in economics from Rhodes University in South Africa and her master’s degree in management with a focus on entrepreneurship and new venture creation from Wits Business School in South Africa.
