Elif Ozturk
Elif Ozturk is a rising junior at Columbia College studying Political Science and Human Rights. Her social impact interests center on advancing women's rights and advocating for refugees and displaced populations. She currently works as a Research Assistant at Columbia University's Institute of Global Politics under the Ann F. Kaplan Women's Initiative, where she supports research and programming focused on gender equity. Elif also co-led efforts to advance menstrual equity legislation in Minnesota and has contributed to international human rights advocacy at the United Nations. She applied to the Social Impact Fellowship to learn how institutions and organizations translate ideas into meaningful, community-driven change. Through the program, she hopes to strengthen her leadership and strategic planning skills while learning from peers and professionals committed to creating a more equitable society.
