Trang Truong
Trang Truong is a junior at Columbia University studying Psychology and Film & Media Studies. As a first-generation Vietnamese American, she creates at the intersection of art and advocacy, using film and media to explore issues around cultural preservation, immigration, and socioeconomic disparity. Her work centers on narrative strategy—crafting intimate stories that foster empathy, preserve memory, and move people to act.
Rooted in her low-income, culturally rich upbringing, Trang’s work is shaped by the needs and stories of her communities. She has mentored Southeast Asian youth through San Diego’s First-Gen Scholars, and led digital advocacy campaigns with Columbia’s FLI Network. A creative at heart, she brings the lens of an artist to every project, working across film, design, and storytelling.
Through the Social Impact Fellowship, Trang hopes to collaborate across disciplines, develop the tools needed to scale impact, and explore how storytelling can not only inform, but also move others.
