Melina Rozehkhan
Melina Rozehkhan is a dual degree student at Trinity College Dublin and Columbia University, majoring in Political Science with a focus on international relations, political psychology, and social movements. Born as the child of refugees and as a first-generation student, Melina has long been committed to amplifying marginalized voices through storytelling, research, and advocacy. Her journey began at age 13, when she started working as a translator for refugees — an experience that sparked her lifelong dedication to justice. She went on to serve as a UN Youth Delegate to the 67th Session to the Commission on the Status of Women and is currently a RISE Scholar and Research Assistant at the Saltzman Institute for War and Peace Studies, where she explores the intersection of gender, democratic transitions, protest movements and digital media. Through the Social Impact Fellowship, she hopes to gain mentorship and creative training to develop a project that combines data analysis, research, and visual storytelling to bring legitimacy and visibility to female voices in the Middle East that are too often not recognized — and, in doing so, foster greater accountability within the policy sector to drive meaningful change.
