Kareena Kochery
Kareena Kochery is an architect specializing in Landscape architecture and Cultural geography, and a partner at the URBZ Collective. She graduated with an MSc. in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from Wageningen University and Research Institute, Netherlands. She has studied and worked for the last 18 years across India, the Netherlands and Geneva. Practising as a landscape architect and planner, she is involved in advocacy for the ecological planning of river basins and is committed to working on community-led environmental planning projects.
She has worked closely with state and municipal officials of cities in India to develop urban-scale interventions and development frameworks related to urban mobility, housing, environment, ecology and economy. Through her work at URBZ she helps bridge gaps between design-led planning and community-led planning. She has over 6 years of experience working with participatory methodologies, facilitating workshops both online and on the field. She helped develop and conduct a participatory urban planning competition for the city of Kochi and has been on an advisory committee to the Goa State Biodiversity Board.
