Adama Delphine Fawundu
Adama Delphine Fawundu is a visual artist working across multiple mediums. Her distinct visual language centers on themes of indigenization and ancestral memory as they relate to climate awareness. Fawundu co-published the critically acclaimed book "MFON: Women Photographers of the African Diaspora". Her most recent solo exhibitions were on view at the Historic Lefferts House in Prospect Park, Brooklyn; the Newark Museum of Art; Princeton University Museum; and Project for Empty Space. Her awards include the 2024 Guggenheim Fellowship, the Catchlight Fellowship, the Anonymous Was A Woman Award, the New York Foundation for The Arts Photography Fellowship, and the Rema Hort Mann Artist Grant. Fawundu’s commissions include the 2024 Malta Biennale, the Park Avenue Armory’s 100 Years | 100 Women Project, and Audible Public Art. Her works are in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Princeton University Museum, Bryn Mawr College, The Petrucci Family Foundation of African American Art, The Brooklyn Historical Society, Norton Museum of Art, The David C. Driskell Art Collection, Montclair art Museum, and several private collections. She is an assistant professor of visual arts at Columbia University.
