Dhruva Ram
Dhruva Ram is a junior at Columbia College studying Environmental Biology and Theatre. Combining these seemingly disparate fields, his primary social impact area of interest lies in the communication of science. He believes there’s a disconnect between science and the humanities – we don’t act with urgency because we don’t see the climate crisis as an issue within human timescales.
As an eco-theatre artist, Dhruva is passionate about using the arts to “humanize” this crisis, using storytelling to spotlight the people most impacted by climate change while instilling a sense of hope for the future. He is especially focused on accessibility in science communication, ensuring it reaches past STEM circles and into the real world.
Dhruva is drawn to the Social Impact Fellowship’s focus on new, creative solutions to global problems and is excited to build a community of individuals with diverse perspectives, yet similar passions for social change.
