The current cohort of Obama Foundation Scholars has moved off campus as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. But their activities are still underway online and this month they took part in a wide-ranging virtual discussion with former President Barack Obama.
“In a lot of ways crises like this sharpen our focus and I hope for all of you have underscored why the work you do is so important,” President Obama told the Scholars, who took part in the call with members of the University of Chicago cohort. President Obama also touched on leadership styles and the most important skills to cultivate in any organization. Scholar Natalia Herbst asked President Obama about his experience of leaving office as a head of state, and the most effective ways he has found to amplify his voice.
