Columbia World Projects' first project, ACToday, is well under way in six countries around the world: Bangladesh, Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Senegal and Vietnam. Project leads from Columbia's International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) are developing a tailored approach in each of the project countries to ensure that meteorological agencies can produce the most accurate climate information, and that individuals and institutions in the agricultural sector have access to that knowledge.
To get a better sense of what that work looks like up close, and what's been accomplished so far, our colleague Elisabeth Gawthrop from IRI traveled to Ethiopia. In a dispatch from the remote city of Adama, Gawthrop describes a recent workshop that trained a range of participants from around the region on how to use new climate information products available online. Read more about the workshop, and how it ties into ACToday's efforts as a whole, here.
