Columbia Global is now accepting applications for a suite of funding opportunities for Columbia faculty and researchers, including an exciting new Scholars-in-Residence Program at our Global Centers.
These opportunities provide Columbia faculty and researchers with funding — more than $2 million in 2025 — and other resources to advance catalytic research, deepen partnerships around the world, implement social impact projects, create new learning opportunities for students, and more. All opportunities seek evidence of collaboration and partnerships across disciplines, schools and borders.

- NEW! Scholars-in-Residence Program at Columbia Global Centers (application period: Oct. 15 - Dec. 2)
- Focus: Hosting faculty and researchers at a Columbia Global Center to advance research, build partnerships, and develop educational experiences for students
- Eligibility: Full-time Columbia faculty or researchers
- Funding (Timeframe): Up to $5,000 (2-8 weeks)
- Columbia World Projects Social Impact Awards (application period for concept notes and expressions of interest: Oct. 15 – Jan. 20, 2025)
- Focus: Advancing inclusive cities through addressing pressing societal challenges in cities around the world.
- Eligibility: Full-time Columbia faculty or researchers
- Funding/Timeframe: Seed Awards, $10,000 - $20,000 (1 year); Impact Awards (Category A), $150,000 - $250,000 (2-3 years); Impact Awards (Category B), up to $500,000 (2-3 years)
- President’s Global Innovation Fund (PGIF) (application period: Oct. 15 - Jan. 20, 2025)
- Focus: Projects that advance progress towards just and collaborative societies
- Eligibility: Full-time Columbia faculty or researchers
- Funding/Timeframe: Early Concept Awards, up to $25,000 (1-2 years); Innovation Awards, up to $100,000 (2-3 years)
- Columbia Global Resilience Fund (application period: Oct. 15 - Jan. 31, 2025)
- Focus: Projects to advance recovery and resilience following the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey (in collaboration with the Global Center in Istanbul)
- Eligibility: Full-time Columbia faculty or researchers
- Funding/Timeframe: Seed Awards, up to $50,000 (18 months); Vision Awards, up to $150,000 (2-3 years)
- Center for Political Economy Faculty Grants (application period: Dec. 2 - March 3, 2025)
- Focus: Projects that generate new knowledge and networks, facilitate knowledge exchange, and expand the methods scholars use in any of the following themes:
- Work and labor
- Firms and industrial policy
- Money and finance
- Political economy of climate
- International political economy
- Political economy and democracy
- Eligibility: Full-time Columbia faculty or researchers
- Funding/Timeframe: Up to $60,000 (1 year)
- Focus: Projects that generate new knowledge and networks, facilitate knowledge exchange, and expand the methods scholars use in any of the following themes:
- Early Career Faculty Impact Fellowship (application period: Oct. 15 - Jan. 31, 2025)
- Focus: Supporting faculty to deepen their expertise in advancing their research to policy or impact
- Eligibility: Full-time Columbia assistant and associate professors who have received their highest academic degree within the last 10 years
- Funding/Timeframe: Up to $25,000 (1 year)
