Columbia World Projects (CWP), a part of Columbia Global, today announced the opening of the application for the 2024 Early Career Faculty Impact Fellowship: Advancing Research and Scholarship to Action. This is a year-long program for early career faculty at Columbia University’s schools and affiliates. The fellowship, which was launched in 2023, is designed to support faculty in exploring ways in which their scholarly work and research can be broadened to achieve social impact.
Early career assistant or associate professors are eligible to apply. Read more about eligibility criteria here. CWP is committed to selecting a diverse cohort of participants from various disciplines and across numerous Columbia Schools, institutes, and centers.
“CWP is excited to offer this opportunity to faculty who are at an important and foundational point in their career. This fellowship will allow for Columbia University’s scholars and researchers to take the next step in advancing their work to impact policy or guide programs,” said Wafaa El-Sadr, executive vice president for Columbia Global. “We are eager to welcome a second cohort of faculty who are passionate about seeing their work achieve the impact they seek.”
The part-time fellowship will begin in spring 2024 and includes four distinct program phases: an applied workshop and seminar series; a summer planning grant of up to $5,000 for project planning; proposal presentations, feedback, and finalization; and a seed grant of up to $20,000 to support project development and implementation.
This is the second program in a series of education, leadership, and training opportunities CWP has launched to advance social impact projects that confront the great challenges of our time.
