Cristóbal De la Maza
Cristóbal de la Maza is the Head of Division of Environmental and Climate Change of the Ministry of Energy of the Government of Chile. Currently he leads the design and implementation of the decarbonization strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 at a national level. He is an Industrial Civil Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a PhD in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. He has worked as a consultant in public and private institutions and was Head of Division of Information and Environmental Economics at the Ministry of Environment from 2010 to 2014, where he led the design and implementation of the National Green Growth Strategy. As a researcher, he specialized in engineering, machine learning and economic tools to design policy interventions aimed for a public with heterogeneous preferences. During his academic career he has published several articles in specialized journals.
